About

_DSF3441-Edit-FINAL

My photography renders contemporary subjects in a timeless manner by evoking the quiet, still beauty of the Pictorialist masters of the early 20th century (e.g., Alfred Stieglitz, Clarence White, Edward Steichen).

I use hand-held cameras and only natural light, with much of my work taken in near darkness, using slow shutter speeds. To give the prints a painterly feel and capture the play of light on subjects, I focus on composition, mood, and feel rather than on sharpness of line.

Keith Taylor prints my images. To produce the velvety, glowing, soft-focused feel I’m after, he and I select the most appropriate print medium (platinum, photogravure, silver or inkjet) for each image.
